Matthew Dellavedova out vs Jazz
According to Cavs head coach Larry Drew, Matthew Dellavedova will miss Friday’s game against the Jazz due to a sprained right foot. Drew updated Dellavedova’s status during his pregame media availability.
Dellavedova had been listed as questionable in the Cavs’ injury report. Since being re-acquired in a trade with the Bucks, Dellavedova had been on a minutes restriction due to an injury hesuffered while still playing for Milwaukee.
Not having Delly is a blow for the Cavs. On a team full
of players who look for their own shot, Delly is a player who moves the
ball. He also is a decent defensive player, something Cleveland, owner’s of the worst defense in the league, needs more of.
The Cavs also aren’t a very healthy team, and can little afford to have players on the sidelines.
According to Drew, Dellavedova will be re-evaluated after Friday’s game. As of now, his status for Saturday’s home against the Pelicans is to-be-determined.
In 11 games with the Cavs, Dellavedova is averaging 9.3 points and 3.6 assists in 19.4 minutes per game.
